 Born in a place called Deberry, Texas in 1965 and attended Carthage Independent School District in Carthage, Texas. A 2 year Varsity Football player (Sr. Honors 1st Team All District & All Cypress Valley);  Four year Track Athlete & One year Senior Varsity Basketball Player (Honorable Mention in District); Co-recipient of TV Production Student of the year; Senior Class Favorite; Graduated Carthage High School, 1984. Received Football Scholarship & attended Cisco Junior College & was named National Junior College All America and All Conference Defensive Back in 1985. Transferred to Texas Christian University on a Football Scholarship in 1986. Had 2 solid seasons at TCU in 86 & 87.  

 

NFL

Drafted by the New York Jets in the 10th Round of the National Football League 1988 Draft. Played 8 years in the NFL for the Jets, Eagles, Cardinals, Giants & Buccaneers(1988-1995). In May of 1998, Earned HIS B.S. in Speech/Communication at Texas Christian University

John is VP of GCI's Sports and Entertainment Division and is also an NFL Analyst at WJLA - ABC 7.

Officer, Secretary of the National Football League Former Players Organization, Washington, DC Chapter.

Coach/Player of the Congreesional Flag Football Team "Mean Machine"(2007-present)
